Vacation Bible School This Summer!  Linwood’s VBS was scheduled for August 5-9, 2013.  A light meal was served from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The theme was, “Investigation Station – The Genesis Factor” and featured Adventist beliefs including God as the Creator, the seventh-day Sabbath, baptism, and heaven – and was designed to connect with community children while engaging Adventist children in learning Bible truths.

Besides being Junior Investigators, the children had an opportunity to be “Kids With A Mission” and actively take part in two mission projects:

  • DIIC (Davis Indian Industrial College) in Paruima, Guyana, South America, where Linwood members, Dan and Laura Fulller are currently serving as missionaries.

One of the Fullers first goals is to develop an agriculture program that will not only allow the school to grow most of its own food, but will also provide an industry to train students in farming techniques and orchard upkeep and provide financing for some of the school projects.  Another need is funding for staff housing.

The Junior Investigators wanted to invite others to join them by putting donations in the jug in the foyer or giving tax-deductible if given by check or money order payable to Linwood SDA Church with “Guyana Mission” noted and sent to the church address: PO Box 48273, Spokane, WA  99228.

  • The other mission project was a food drive of non-perishable items for The Better Living Center (BLC).  Again, an open invitation for others to join them in their community service.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  Furthermore, volunteers are always a blessing.  They can be contacted by phone at (509) 325-1258 and/or visit their website at www.betterlivingcenter.org.

Being involved in outreach is an integral and essential part of our Christian experience. The children know that they are never too small to serve and help others for Jesus and feel privileged to partner with others in this service.
