Thank you to all the children who joined us for a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School – and to the parents/guardians who allowed us to spend time with them!

We appreciate your thoughts on how the event went by taking a few moments to fill out our survey.

Linwood’s VBS programs give our volunteers the chance to work together in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Being involved in outreach is an integral and essential part of our Christian experience. The children know that they are never too small to serve and help others for Jesus and feel privileged to partner with others in this service.

Our VBS 2014 event is scheduled for June 23 – 27 with a light meal provided from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., followed by the program from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

VBS is a lot of work and effort. You might be asking… “How could I teach anyone about Jesus? What if I said the wrong thing? What if I steered the children wrong?”

Our all-powerful, all-knowing, loving Lord makes the little we have to offer more than enough for any task done in His name.

Below are some important lessons in life when helping with VBS:

1. bringing smiles to children’s faces is worth a little angst.
2. we won’t grow if we don’t challenge ourselves at least a little.
3. learn about Jesus’ love for us through the eyes of “babes.”
4. it is exciting to get to know the Lord.
5. learn how to bring biblical men and women to life through story.
6. learn the joy of serving someone other than family.
7. we don’t have to wait until we know “enough” about the Bible to teach biblical principles.
8. sharing about Jesus is never about comfort but always about love–His for us, our’s for Him and for others.
9. children are hungry for adult love and attention and the love and truth of the Lord, no matter where they live
10. offering the little we have is more than enough for our Father.

If you are able to contribute time and/or materials, your help is needed and appreciated.
